Learn how to setup an IMAP account on your Apple iOS device, including Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

Before you start checklist

Have the following details ready before you start:

  • Your domain name
  • Your Ecenica Email address
  • Your Email Password

Configuring Apple iPhone

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account…
  2. Tap Other.
  3. Tap Add Mail Account
  4. Enter:
    • Your Name
    • Enter your Ecenica E-mail Address. Example: info@example.com
    • Your E-mail Password
    • A description.
  5. Tap Next
  6. Tap IMAP so it is highlighted.
  7. Enter your Ecenica Incoming Mail Server settings
    Host Name:
    Use your Ecenica package’s hostname. For example, server1.ecenica.com
    User Name:
    Your full E-mail Address. Example: info@example.com
    Password:
    Your E-mail Password
  8. Enter your Ecenica Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) settings
    Host Name:
    Use your Ecenica package’s hostname. For example, server1.ecenica.com
    User Name:
    Your full E-mail Address. Example: info@example.com
    Password:
    Your E-mail Password
  9. Tap Next
  10. Wait for your iPhone to verify the account information
  11. Tap Save
  12. Tap the email account you have just created
  13. Tap Account
  14. Scroll down and tap Advanced
  15. Tap IMAP Path Prefix and enter INBOX (all upper case)
  16. Tap the top left arrow to go back
  17. Tap SMTP
  18. Tap your Primary Server
  19. Tap Server Port and enter 26
  20. Tap Done

Your iPhone is now configured to send and receive email using your Ecenica E-mail address.
